Mursal Mohamud Ahmed is a distinguished academic with a rich background in local governments, Finance, and education. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration & Management, specializing in Local Governments, from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU). Additionally, Mursal earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and Finance from East Africa University in Somalia, and a Diploma in Education (Physics & Math) from Garowe Teachers Education College (GTEC), Somalia.

Mursal’s commitment to public service is evident through his role as a Qardho city council member, where he proudly became one of the first democratically elected council members in Somalia. His political career is further supported by his deep dedication to the development and betterment of his community. Alongside his public office role, Mursal has a rich history of contributions to the education sector, particularly in secondary schools, where he has worked for several years.

In his current role as the Executive Director at Noobir Institute for Research and Development, Somalia, Mursal continues to lead innovative projects aimed at driving socio-economic change and advancing research in Somalia. Over the past year, he has also conducted and published several research papers, further establishing his reputation as a thought leader in his field.
